Jeffrey Brown, son of Viv & Tony,is seen here with 3 Martini-Henry Enfield rifles which were found in 1976 when clearing out a shed at the back of the old St Mary’s hall. Rifles of this type were used by the British Army. Around 1900 some were converted for use by rifle clubs which is probably what happened to these as there is known to have been an Overton rifle club in 1907. These 3 weapons were handed to the police.
