Weapon slit in the wall to Laverstoke Park on the B3400. This was for use by the Home Guard. Michael Hassell of Los Angeles, who lived in Manor Cottages, Freefolk during the war, informs us that there was a trench on the other side of the wall so that the men could gain protection. He also informs us that there were steel bands around large trees at that spot with cables to block the road. – Photo 2006
