Katie Collis (left) moved to Overton and in 1957 lived at 1 Silkmill Cottages. Katie worked at Lordsfield School and then in the White Hart kitchen, until her retirement. Her final years were spent with her daughter Susan in Bournemouth where she passed away in 1995 aged 82. The picture is taken at Silkmill Cottages beside the River Test, with her daughter Jean Pearce. Jean worked at Roper’s shop in Overton and her husband Del worked at Portals Mill. Jean passed away in 2001 aged 62.
