he River runs across the top of this picture and immediately below it are a dozen dwellings with dark roofs. These are believed to be former Canadian Army huts which were erected as temporary accommodation for Mill workers. They were made of corrugated iron and were not weather proof. They had no mains water or drainage. No one seems to know why they were known as China Town. They were subsequently sold off to villagers and renovated, and are now desirable riverside homes.
