
1980 – Alan Sharp and Paul Wheeler, on the right, out for an early morning run in Overton, training for the marathon. His training schedule included running between 80 & 100 miles a week. In 1981 at the age of 20, Paul ran in the London Marathon finishing in 64th place with a time of 2:25:17. He was the youngest of the first 100 runners. (Overton veteran, John Thomas also ran and achieved a personal best of 2:36:59).
