Most people if asked would have heard of Henry Cooper (Our ‘enry) but who knows of Jack Gardner – Heavyweight Champion of Great Britain in 1950, he then gained the Europe and British Empire titles the following year. He was born in Market Harborough but became an adopted son of Overton.
