Mr Hammond wrote the following on 29th March 1961;
I have known Mr. Brown for the last year of his appointment at this school. He has taught the top class ‘A’ stream and in every subject his class have benefited from his very thorough teaching. He sets a high standard in work and conduct and achieves just the right atmosphere of order and concentration with an absence of any sense of repression.
