This 2006 picture shows the cottage in the painting. The main differences between this and earlier pictures of the same scene are the tarmac surface on the road and the row of parked cars all down the side. Car parking has become so much of a problem in the village that this narrow little road has been made “access only”. Strange to reflect that it was once the main N/S route through the village. It must have been very dusty.
