Glennys Birch and Cath Smith in the “Rag House” c.1976. Glennys started working at Portals in Overton when she left school at the age of 15. She left after a few years but returned some time later and worked there in total for about 15 years. Her grandfather, father and mother all worked at Laverstoke Mill, walking to work each day from Overton.
