Thanks to Anne Stockill we now know that this is the Sprent family – “The fat man is William Sprent, schoolmaster, with his wife Elizabeth (nee Highan) and his daughter with a bike, and his son William with a gun – my great-grandfather”. The family home was on the corner of Winchester St and Sprent’s Lane and their property would probably have run through to Waltham Road, possibly where this photo was taken. This would fit in with the photo shown in the Sprents Lane gallery ref 10_5SP001
