
Earlier occupants of what later became the One Stop shop. Margaret Charsley (nee Lambden) reports: “On returning from the first world war, my father Ernie Lambden took over the butcher’s business from my grandfather. He subsequently let no. 1 to my eldest sister Eileen who, with her husband Harry Hobbs, operated the hairdressing salon. My father died in 1987 and the property was sold. Eileen and her son Chris, moved into the present shop next door but one.”
