1964 – This is St Mary’s church with Court farm on the left. On the left boundary of the church grounds was a rare example of a thatched wall. And on the right hand boundary along Kingsclere Road was a beautiful flint wall. Neither has survived. The rough ground at the bottom left of the picture is now part of the ORC grounds. The bottom right corner shows part of some abandoned watercress beds which have since reverted to nature and are now a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
