1964 – This shows the west end of the High Street. The large building in the middle of the lower half of the picture is the Red Lion, at the crossroads with Bridge Street (coming across from the right) and Red Lion Lane. It is hard to imagine that in the distant past Bridge Street and Red Lion Lane were the main north/south route through the village.
