Temporary accommodation for Bank of England workers evacuated from London during WW2. Picture taken in 1946. The chalets were later used to house Overton families. All have since been demolished and the site has been redeveloped as “Foxdown”. The cottages built for Portals’ workers, seen on the top right, are still there today.
