Constant flooding problems at Town Meadow and the need for a second pitch sparked the search for a new ground. The sale of Laverstoke Estate created an opportunity and the new owner, Jody Scheckter, allowed the Club to take over the Old Cricket Ground at Laverstoke Park in 1997. The Club’s new premises evolved in a modular form. The original thatched pavilion remains, with two “Portacabin” type changing rooms added at the back and, more recently, a canvas extension was added on the front.
